Infidelity and Cheating Partners

At Artemis we understand the uncertainty and worry that can be caused when a client suspects their partner or spouse of infidelity, or cheating.

We understand that there is nothing worse for our clients than not knowing for sure whether they have been betrayed and their trust broken.

Very often a client’s suspicions turn out to be well founded. This is because they know and understand their partner or spouse and how they behave and engage. When that changes it can be a sign that something is wrong.

Although these changes in behaviour can be brought on by many things including hidden health or financial issues and the stress of keeping them hidden, often the reason is infidelity.

In 2022 statistics suggested that 18% to 20% of individuals in a married relationship had been unfaithful. In unmarried relationships the figure was higher at 30% to 40%.

In the United Kingdom 40% to 50% of people in any relationship had cheated with around 90% of women and 77% of men admitting to having a non-physical emotional relationship outside their relationship of trust.

Signs that a partner of spouse may be cheating can include:

  • Their communication patterns have changed so they don’t answer messages or calls a quickly or in the same was as normal
  • They are less interested in sex with you
  • They have expressed unhappiness about your relationship
  • They overcompensate for their guilt with extravagant gestures or gifts
  • They are more concerned with their appearance than is usual
  • Unusual cash withdrawals
  • Spending more time away from home or working late
  • Dishonesty
  • Change in use of technology, for example more devices than is usual or using new applications and being protective of them
  • Your relationship started as an affair
  • They regularly accuse you of cheating
  • They’ve suddenly got new sex moves
  • They’re suddenly hyper-critical of you
  • Your typical relationship issues seem to disappear
